1. A 2-day Professional Railway Operation Training Course has been held successfully at Cyberport on 17 & 24 May 2014. The contents cover:
    • Key engineering systems for operating modern and sophisticated railway network (Rolling Stock [trains], Signaling, Traction Power, Communications and Control);
    • Key engineering systems for managing an efficient and effective modern railway network – Risk Management, Hazard Management, System Assurance Management and Environmental Considerations to ensure sustainability for continuous development; and
    • Key engineering systems for maintaining a first-class railway throughout its operating life – Lifecycle Costing, Technological upgrade, Asset Replacement and Customer Liaison Groups with the use of durable and environmental friendly components and systems.
  2. Various training courses on railway have been conducted with MMC Gamuda JV in Malaysia.
  3. The first Higher Diploma Course on Mass Transportation Engineering is being developed.
  4. Collaborations with renowned universities /Institutes are being explored for :
    • bridging degree and MSc degree programmes on railway signaling in Southeast Asia (overseas); and
    • Jointly held Higher Diploma Course in Mainland on railway and R & D on railway (Mainland China)
    • Joint programme for railway engineering course (Singapore)
    • Long term programme for Professional Certification Course on Railway and R & D on railway (Malaysia)
  5. MOU Signing Ceremony on UniKL and KCG Corporation Limited
    • “A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been jointly signed by the President of Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL), on behalf of the UniKL, and Chairman of KCG Corporation Limited (KCG) on behalf of KCG, on 31 July 2015 in the main campus of UniKL at the capital city of Malaysia. The MOU serves as the foundation for KCG to provide the expert advice and consultancy services to UniKL for their planning and organizing railway related courses at professional certificate level in Malaysia. The first series of these courses shall cover Rolling Stock (trains), Railway Signaling and Railway Traction Power systems. These courses are organized in response to the tremendous demand in the local market when the two Light Rail extension projects as well the Klang Valley MRT Line 1 phase 1 is planned to be opened in 2016.
    • UniKL is an university based in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia with over 10 campuses in the country. KCG a company established in Hong Kong for planning and organizing specialized short term and formal training professional courses at diploma level and above.”
